Accessibility statement
Pursuant to the Barrierefreiheitsgesetz (BaFG, Austrian Accessibility Act) and EN 301 549.
Compliance status
pippo.app is substantially compliant with the standards WCAG 2.1 Level AA and EN 301 549. In the automated Lighthouse audit, the main public pages of the application reach an accessibility score of at least 96/100.
The areas listed below have not yet been fully checked for accessibility. Pippo is improved continuously – feedback is explicitly welcome.
Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on 8 April 2026 on the basis of the following assessment methods:
- Automated tests with Google Lighthouse (accessibility audit, mobile configuration) on the main public pages – score in each case at least 96/100 (home page, login, teacher page, privacy policy, accessibility)
- Manual spot checks of keyboard navigation, focus order and semantic HTML structure
- Contrast check of the main controls and text content against WCAG thresholds (all values checked ≥ 4.5:1 for normal text)
Content that is not accessible
The public pages (home page, login, parents, teachers and Pippo pages, privacy policy, legal notice, terms of use, accessibility, FAQ) have been checked against WCAG 2.1 AA and fully meet the requirements.
Signed-in area (parent, teacher and child views)
The signed-in area – dictation player, class management, progress analysis, awards – has not yet been systematically audited against WCAG 2.1 AA. First spot checks show a high level (semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, contrast); a full audit including a screen reader test (NVDA, VoiceOver) is planned for the medium term.
Animated transitions
Pippo uses animations in some places (mascot movement, success confetti, card transitions). prefers-reduced-motion is respected in the main components; full coverage is being added step by step.
Planned measures
- Ongoing: New features are checked against WCAG 2.1 AA criteria before release (Lighthouse audit, contrast tools, keyboard navigation).
- Medium term: Manual WCAG 2.1 AA audit with a screen reader test (NVDA, VoiceOver) of the main flows (login, dictation player, parent and teacher areas).
- This statement will be updated after significant changes to the application or after an audit has been completed.

Enforcement procedure
If you feel that your concerns have still not been dealt with satisfactorily after giving feedback, you can contact the Sozialministeriumservice (the Austrian federal office for social affairs and disability). It carries out a conciliation procedure under the Bundes-Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz (BGStG, Federal Disability Equality Act).
